Cris Hernández is a typeface designer, graphic designer, and researcher based in Brooklyn; Lenapehoking.
Through his type foundry, Que Queda Type, he designs typefaces and collaborates with communities to address challenges in typographic representation, centering his practice on North American Indigenous languages and writing systems.
His broader design practice spans branding, education, and public service.
He received a BFA in Graphic Design from The California Institute of the Arts in 2017 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Typeface Design from the Type@Cooper Extended Program in 2019.
